What is the best way to write to Bronson?

The easiest way is to email him at bronson.miner@myldsmail.net.

Another way is to use DearElder.com. The Dear Elder site is completely free, and often the letter will get to him faster than if you sent it via the regular postal service. You don’t have to track down an envelope. You don’t have to go to the post office to mail it. You don’t have to worry about all of the pouch mail regulations because DearElder.com takes care of all of that for you!

If you still want to use regular postal mail to send him a letter, or if you want to send him a package, you can send it to his mission office at:

Elder John Bronson Miner
Mexico, Saltillo Mission
Eulalio Gutierrez #1057
Colina Las Praderas
C.P. 25295 Saltillo, Coahuila

If you send anything valuable, it might not arrive. If it does arrive, Bronson might be forced to pay a lot in duties to get the package, so if you decide to send a package, make sure that it’s small, inexpensive, and not sensitive to temperature. We’ve been told that DHL is the most reliable shipping service in that area. We’ll update this page if that changes. Update: We used DHL to send a package to Bronson. He received it in 3 days!

A better option for a care package is probably to just use www.missionarypackagemx.com. They are based in Mexico and deliver to any mission within the country. They offer a wide selection of items to choose from. The cost of the items is more expensive than if you were to purchase them in the U.S., but you avoid shipping charges, customs, and potential loss or theft of the package.

If you would like to use the pouch system, here is a little information about it:

The pouch provides a cheap and reliable mail service to many places where receiving mail is difficult. The service does not accept envelopes or packages. In order to use the pouch, you have two options: either write a postcard or write a letter on one side of a single sheet of printer paper. If using a piece of paper, fold it into thirds, fastening the top with tape and placing a stamp in the top right corner. Address the sheet as follows:

Elder John Bronson Miner
Mexico, Saltillo Mission
P.O. Box 30150
Salt Lake City, UT 84130-0150

The Mormon Mission Prep website explains a bit more about the format for pouch mail and why it’s that way: Pouch Regulations
